Monday, 31st December 2001 - Day 137

Welcome back again to my New Years Eve update. Does everybody get presents again as it seems to be another party tonight ?? I will have to wait and see what happens as I have never experienced a New Year as I am only on my first one....

Well today has been rather good really, as early this morning I was back up to full feeds again, 47ml every 2 hours or 150ml / kg / day. This is nearly as much as before, not quite but good enough to keep me more satisfied. I thought my little tummy was going to implode when I was not being fed the full amount. Poor me, I am glad it is over now. This also means I have no longer got my fluid drip, into my leg. This was there to keep my fluids up. one less wire/tube for me to play with and catch on things. I was allowed out for a cuddle with Mummy and Daddy on Low Flow as you can see in the pictures. This cuddle lasted a nice long couple of hours until Mummy and Daddy went off for a meal with Uncle John and his family.

Whilst I was being cuddle, the nice consultant Doctor Evans, who has looked after me for the past week, came to see Mummy and Daddy and tell them the results of the MRI scan I had ages ago, when I left the Unit for the first time since August. It appears that they feel that there is nothing significant to worry about at this time, my poor little brain is a bit on the small side for my age, but that is similar to other premature babies they say. This was big relief to both Mummy and Daddy who could not really stand some more bad news after my brush with the my virus. However he did say that I would probably need oxygen through my Low Flow tubes for up to the next year. This means having these horrible little tubes at home and when I go out to see people. Poor little me when can I get some pictures taken without plasters all over my face. I am sure I would look prettier to Mummy and Daddy if I could get rid of them.....

Mummy and Daddy came back later towards the end of the evening to wish me Happy New Year, so hopefully I can join in the fun next year without my horrible tubes. Hope you all have a great New Year's Eve and see you next year.....
